City of Beresford Jaycees

The Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) is the premier leadership training organization for young people in the world. The Jaycees offers leadership training through developing and participating in community service and individual development projects. There are also plenty of social events too!

Put simply, we run projects. These involve different area categories - community, individual development, management, and membership. By participating in whatever projects interest you, valuable experience can be gained in teamwork, planning, forecasting, finances, managing, speaking, writing, and personal fulfillment.

The Jaycee Creed

We believe:
That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That the government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth's greatest treasure lies in human personality;

And that service to humanity is the best work of life.

The Jaycees are a non-profit organization for people ages 21-40. The official line is that we offer leadership training through community service. What that means in reality is that you can learn new things, help people, and have a lot of fun doing it! The Jaycees start at the local level, with a community chapter. The organization has other levels - district, region, state, national, and international. The effect the different levels have on the local chapter varies, but the opportunity is there to get to know other people like yourself - even across the world!
