USD Luther Center:
Annual Spaghetti Supper – Friday, January 25, 2008 from 5:30-7:30 pm at Valiant Vineyards/Buffalo Run Resort in Vermillion. Cost is $12 for Adult & $8 Under 12 – Emmanuel has 10 available tickets – just contact the church office or they are available at 605-624-2834. Proceeds support the Luther Center.

Clifton Johnson is continuing his recovery at home.

To Brian & Heather Ivarsen on the birth of their daughter, Kaylee, who was born on January 10, 2008.

We are still looking for someone willing to serve as Chairperson for the Stewardship & Mission Support Committee. If you are interested please contact a Nominating Committee member. Nominations will still be accepted at the Annual Meeting, which will be held on January 27, 2008 at 12:00.

I would like to encourage all members of Emmanuel to attend the Annual Meeting on January 27, 2008. There are many important issues to cover including the search for a permanent pastor and electing many new council members. When there is more than one person running for a position such as there is this year for president, your vote (or lack of it) will determine the direction the church will head for in the coming years. If you are a confirmed member of this church your vote counts. This is a perfect opportunity for you to voice your opinion as we fulfill the mission of Emmanuel. At the next council meeting we will be discussing the possibility of voting by absentee ballot. Thank you in advance for attending.

Pastor Dennis Hansen’s Schedule:
Pastor Dennis Hansen will work from home preparing sermons and hospital visitation Monday & Friday. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, he will be in the office at Emmanuel from 8:30 am until after 6:00 pm. He will be here each Sunday for worship.
